Household chores logged with a tap of the phone on an NFC tag. Tap the tag on the washing
machine and Toque starts counting; when the cycle ends it lets you know, and if the laundry
is still inside later, it lets you know again. Chores do not need another list. They need
something that remembers at the right moment, and with a tag where the chore happens,
marking it takes a second.
Screens
The tag screen, today and the list of chores. From the demo, with made-up data.
Chores
Timer
A tag starts a countdown, and Toque reminds you when it ends and again until the follow-up tag is tapped.
Until confirmed
On collection days, reminders grow more insistent until the tag is tapped.
Recurring
Due on chosen days, or every few days after the last tap.
Details
No login at the tag: each tag holds a link with its own token, which opens that chore and nothing else.
Notifications through ntfy, with Done and Snooze buttons and quiet hours.
An optional Google Calendar of its own, with each event removed once the chore is done.
Installable as an app on the iPhone home screen.
Fits in free tiers: Next.js on Vercel, Postgres on Neon and a cron job every minute.
Try it
To run it locally, follow the steps in the README. Without a database it uses an embedded Postgres and migrates on its own.
